East Timorese women are 8 times more likely to die of breast cancer after diagnosis than Australian women. This is not only due to a lack of treatment options and facilities in Timor-Leste, but also to lack of education on the importance of early detection and prompt medical intervention. I am proud of the work that HALIKU, the Alola Foundation’s women’s cancer awareness program, is doing to change this! If you’d like to show your love for women with breast cancer in Timor-Leste this International Women Day (5 years ago, the Health Ministry officially launched the HALIKU group), make a donation to HALIKU by visiting the Alola Australia website and clicking Donate Now. In the Notes section, please specify that your funds are for Grupo Haliku. Obrigadu Barak, ho DOMIN / Thank you with LOVE 💕
